ABOUT
DiALAB
DiALAB is an international platform focused on career development, project consultancy, and networking for black audiovisual professionals.
Since its creation, in 2018, DiALAB has done intense work in coordination with the most varied states in Brazil and countries in Latin America, Europe, and Africa. So far, 13 countries have sent representatives to the platform's programs, almost 500 projects have been registered, and more than 50 scriptwriters and producers have been selected for project development programs. Furthermore, more than 1000 people have already participated in training courses and activities open to the public, making the platform one of the most relevant in its area of activity.
Over the years we have worked with the aim of creating conditions for black audiovisual professionals to compete for space in the industry, in order to bring well-developed narratives to the screen, with aesthetic refinement, with market potential, and connected with the general public.
Of the twenty-nine projects that passed through the platform's programs, we highlight “Açucena”, by Isaac Donato, winner of best film at the main Tiradentes Film Festival; “We, People of the Islands”, by Elson Santos, awarded at the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival and Blue Ice Docs (Canada) and selected for the Spotlighted Projects of the Marché du Film at the Cannes Festival; “Miraildes Mota - A Lendária Formiga”, by Taís Amordivino, a co-production with HBO Brasil that is already in the post-production stage; and "Ana, en Passant", by Fernanda Salgado, which is currently in the post-production phase.
The platform, formerly known as Diáspora Conecta, is maintained and developed by Produtora Portátil, a film and television content producer based in Salvador, Bahia, with award-winning projects from the Sundance Institute, William Greaves Fund, and in co-production with Mozambique, Nigeria, and Spain.

It offers a set of activities in an immersive consultancy and advisory program aimed at developing feature-length fiction film projects.

It is a program dedicated to film projects in the post-production phase, where we promote the meeting of creators with a qualified audience of film industry professionals.
PROGRAM 2

Docs
It is a program dedicated to documentary narratives, whether in feature film or series format, an exclusive space for improving projects and articulating with the market.
PROGRAM 5
DiALAB
Music
It is an innovative program dedicated to film or television projects that have music as the main character in their narratives, and that seek to improve their projects in an exclusive training and networking space in Salvador.
PROGRAM 3
DiALAB
Series
It brings together experts in serial fiction narratives to foster the development of professionals and their projects through an immersive program of consultancy activities.
PROGRAM 6
Brave Futures
It's an intersectional program that challenges filmmakers to create a short film within 48 hours using their city as a setting. After passing through several cities worldwide, #BraveFutures arrives in Salvador, Bahia, in October 2024.
